THE DHI IMPLANTATION METHOD & CHOI IMPLANTER PEN

Some define DHI hair transplant as the newest method in hair transplantation, some say there is no ‘recognized’ technique called DHI, others claim that it is just a marketing gimmick, while a fraction explains the method as; FUE with implanters. The debate goes further, where the two methods in its simplest form stand out to be; ‘different ways to harvest the grafts’ combined with ‘conducting different implanting procedures’. Our aim for this study is to remain objective and to have a brief and clear understanding of how the procedure actually works.

Unlike the FUE method, during the DHI implantation method, site creation and graft implantation are performed simultaneously, i.e. extraction and implantation are combined as part of a one or two-step process. This allows for the embedding of the extracted hair follicles directly into the receipt areas without the need of creating channel incisions in the donor area via utilizing an implanter (Choi) pen that features a hollow needle connected to a tub and plunger device. This is why the DHI procedure is also referred to as the Choi method.

Needle-Free & Painless Hair Transplant Procedures Without Compromising Comfort!

In hair transplantation, before extracting the hair follicles from the donor area and creating the recipient sites for the transplantation process, local anaesthesia is applied to the relevant areas. It takes more time for the anaesthetic to take effect when an anaesthetic solution is injected into the scalp with needles.

The DHI method procedure

With scientific and technical advancements, hair restoration procedures have improved over the past decade, reaching to a point where it is now possible to conduct hair transplant utilizing the Choi Implanter pen with any kind of hair characteristic, creating a new era that produces consistent, effective, predictable, safe but most of all natural-looking results.
